HELLO and welcome

I’m Dr Victoria Brattan. I’m a Clinical Psychologist, and Director of Lucens Psychology Services. I’m registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS), with several years’ experience working both in private practice and in the NHS.

Lucens means rising light.

At Lucens Psychology Services, we offer support in a range of ways, including consultations, diagnostic assessments, post-diagnostic support for individuals and families, and therapy. Whether you’re looking to better understand yourself or your child through assessment, or seeking support through practical ways or therapy, the ultimate aim is to support you or your family towards an improved quality of life, to empower you to navigate any challenges, to live a life more aligned with what you hold important, and to support you to thrive.

Therapy, Psychology and Assessment Services

SHORT-TERM GOAL ORIENTATED therapeutic SUPPORT

For stress management, burnout, better sleep, and general mind health and wellness.

NEURODIVERGENCE CONSULTATIONS

For adults and young people wishing to explore autism or ADHD as a potential explanation for any challenges they experience, and are considering an assessment or different types of support, but are not sure about what they would like to do next.

AUTISM and ADHD ASSESSMENTS

Full formal assessments of autism spectrum condition (ASC) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) for adults, children and young people. Offered in a collaborative and neuroaffirmative way with a small team of caring and highly experienced professionals.

POST-DIAGNOSTIC SUPPORT

For individuals, families, and small groups who wish to make sense of experiences, and social and relational concerns, in the context of autism or ADHD, and who want to move towards a more fulfilled and meaningful personal or professional life.


VICTORIA’S TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Chartered Clinical Psychologist (DClinPsy), with several years’ experience working in both private practice and the NHS.

- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS).

- Fully trained in ‘gold standard’ processes for autism assessment, including the Autism Diagnostic Observational Schedule-2 (ADOS-2) and Autism Diagnostic Interview Revised (ADI-R).

- Fully trained in the ‘gold standard’ processes for ADHD assessment, including the ADHD Child Evaluation version 2 (ACEv2), and the ADHD Clinical Evaluation for Adults (ACE+v2).

- Post-qualification certification in Clinical Supervision

- MSc and PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, which allow me to draw upon in-depth knowledge of the brain to use an integrated biological-psychological-social approach to work with clients and to consider practical approaches to cognitive differences that might be impacting on day to day life.

- Experienced in the administration and interpretation of standardised cognitive assessments to inform support and intervention related to cognitive differences and challenges, to aid in the workplace and education.

THERAPEUTIC Approaches include

Trained in various therapeutic approaches, which I draw upon as needed to offer a bespoke therapeutic experience. These include:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training (ACT)

Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with Mindfulness

Integrative Embodied Therapy (somatic approach)
